The Presidential election of 2016 is in the books. Now, the staff of The Camasonian looks ahead by asking CHS students: “What is your reaction to the election, and what are your thoughts on the future of America?”
“I wasn’t surprised. Why would I have been? Trump was going to win, from the start, you could see that. I’m excited to see what he is going to do with the walls, now especially the ones in Canada, that one’s going to be good. Not even just Trump, but Pence too. They’re good for the job, they’ll make America great again.” – Anonymous
“I really did not want Trump to win, I obviously wanted Hillary because she would have done something for our country.” – Sophomore
“I’m happy that at least it wasn’t Clinton, and I’m curious to see what Trump does with the Presidency” – Sophomore
“ All I have to say is America has a possibility of being free of debt now. No more kicking the can further down the road.” – Junior
“Not what I was hoping for, but I think in the long run it’ll work, we’ll be okay. It’ll work itself out . . . hopefully.” – Junior
“I couldn’t even vote, but it will be really interesting to see how things work out. Could be bad, or not so bad.” – Senior
“I can’t… I genuinely… I just…” – Senior
“Stay strong, we’re gonna get through it!” – Sophomore
“Support whoever won.” – Junior
“Not much is going to change, I think people are blowing it way out of proportion.” – Freshman
“I don’t like what happened, I’m not happy with it, I don’t even know what to say right now, I’m speechless” – Senior
“After I saw the election I wanted to cry and I’m afraid for every thought that comes into his head. We may be moving soon.” – Sophomore
“I actually cried. Not only are we going to have terrible immigration laws and ridiculous racism, but the Republicans are taking over everything.” – Anonymous
