Each year in November, the National Honor Society (NHS) at Camas High School puts on an annual blood drive for the Red Cross. This year proved to be exceptional as students contributed to a cause that can save lives. More than 140 donors registered to give blood, and the Red Cross actually had to turn additional donors away.

NHS Advisor Mrs. Dignan is proud of the organizational work her students do. She says the drive “seems to run smoother every year.”

One of Mrs. Dignan’s favorite parts of the annual event is seeing the officers work together. She said everyone showed up on time and followed through with exactly what they were supposed to do.

NHS did a marvelous job; however, there is always room for improvement.  Senior Ashley Miles touched on some things that went wrong “just having people return their permission slips”, adding on to what she said “We didn’t have everyone that signed up come which we want to change.”  Mrs. Dignan noted on how next year she wants to keep things organized and encourage as much CHS students and staff as possible to donate.

NHS Blood Drive was very successful once again. And surely NHS thanks everyone who donated their blood this year and making a large impact in not just their community but many. Thanks agian NHS!
