On January 19, Camas High School took the time to honor fall sports accomplishments. In an assembly after school, Camas administration thanked the teams for their hard work and the parents and fans for all of their support.
The meeting started off by thanking the band and the cheerleaders for all of their school spirit and time they put in this Fall. Though there may not be an award to give these groups, they most certainly deserve one!
Next up, Yacine Guermali received an award for his incredible performance throughout the season, including a record-breaking run at the State meet. His coach, Laurie Porter also honored him with a short speech and a thank you for all of his hard work.
Girls Soccer received honors after Guermali. Not only did the girls win State this year, but they ended the season ranked number one in the nation out of 20,000 teams! Throughout the season they scored a whopping 89 goals, conceding only 2 in a total of 22 games. They earned a trophy and shirts from Maxpreps for their national ranking.
The Football team honors wrapped up the meeting with a bang. Not only did the boys win State for the first time, but they also ended the season with a national ranking! They were ranked 22nd nationally. Maxpreps also presented them with a trophy and shirts for their hard work. At the assembly They honore Jack Coletto as well for receiving the Gatorade Player of the year Award! After an impressive impromptu speech by Colletto the assembly came to a close.
