Eliisa Marshall, Camas High School (CHS) senior and varsity Track and Field athlete has demonstrated athletic dedication and success on various occasions. Marshall has been running track since fifth grade and has since developed a strength in running the 400-meter sprint and the 800-meter distance as well as the 4 by 200-meter relay and 4 by 400-meter relay.

Marshall has had numerous successes when competing in these events.
“I would say my biggest accomplishments thus far are committing to run in college, being the Greater St. Helens League (GSHL) Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2024, and qualifying for nationals and placing high enough to be an All-American,” Marshall said.
Marshall holds several state titles and school records. Last year at state, she placed second in the 800-meter distance and the 4 by 400-meter relay. In 2023, she placed eighth for both the 800-meter distance as well as the 400-meter sprint and got first in 4 by 400-meter relay. In her freshman year, she placed 12th for the 400-meter sprint.
Marshall’s Sprint Medley Relay and 4 by 800-meter relay teams hold the CHS record. All of these achievements were due to her hard work, teamwork, and grit.
“Eliisa is hard-working and dedicated to running, but also has fun doing it,” Lila McCarthy, a CHS Track and Field athlete, said. “She always has the best advice for her teammates and pushes us to do our best in races and during workouts.”

“She has a high pain tolerance to run the events that she runs,” Chris Butler, a CHS Track and Field coach, said. “She’s dedicated—she puts in the time and it pays off.”
Marshall’s years of hard work have given her the opportunity to commit to run track at Boise State University. She chose Boise State for the coaching staff and a welcoming group of teammates.
As Marshall moves on to the next chapters of her life, she has many takeaways from the Track and Field program at CHS.
“My biggest takeaway from CHS track is that trust is beyond essential for success—trust in my coaches, my teammates, my training,” Marshall said. “Without it, I doubt I would be where I am today.”
Marshall will take many lessons from track with her that will guide her towards success in her future.
“I’ve learned the importance of mentality which correlates to both races and everyday experiences,” Marshall said. “Beyond that, both consistency and time management have also been big lessons.”
Marshall leaves a lasting impression on the CHS Track and Field program, just as the program has left an impression on her life. She will continue to take the lessons she has learned from being in Track and Field into the next chapters of her life.
