The Camas High School (CHS) girls’ basketball team is having a really good season. They have a record of 17 wins and 3 losses, they won districts, and have beaten teams by more than 50 points. They are pleased with what they have accomplished this season and think that they have a great chance in the playoffs.

“Our whole season has been leading up and preparing us for the playoffs. This is where we hope to see our hard work pay off and show,” junior Brianna Forbess said.

The CHS girls’ basketball team is excited and ready for the state playoffs. They believe in themselves and think that they are going to do very well at state. Their ability to beat teams by incredible amounts will help them compete and win state. They averaged about 63 points per game, and their opponents collectively averaged about 35 points per game.

“We have been working really hard and it is paying off on the floor. We work so well as a team, no one is selfish. It is about the team’s success, not any one player,” Forbess said.

The team works great together, and their chemistry on the court is amazing. Their success is credited to their great chemistry, and not to any individual. They are ready to continue their success into the playoffs and to state.

“As a program, the majority of our success has come from our will and ability to share the ball on the court. Though there have been a few letdowns throughout the season, the key has been to learn from our mistakes as we prepare for the future. Overall, the season has gone very well and we find our success in our selfless work ethics,” junior Addison Harris said.

Harris believes that the team has learned well from their few losses. After each loss, they got better, and now they are ready to use all that they have learned to win state. Recently they won districts with an undefeated record in district games with 7 wins and 0 losses. This includes beating Battle Ground High School by 57 points.

“My favorite moment so far this season has been playing in the Sierra Canyon game. In that game, we learned that we have the ability to compete with anyone in the nation. Not to mention, the team dinner we had afterward. The entire experience was an incredible opportunity to bond as a team,” said Harris.
