Togetherness in a Trump Nation
Almost a month ago, Donald Trump became President-Elect. The election revealed just how deep the divide in America is. The morning after the election, people in cities across the country rioted, they cried out in protest at the injustice of it all. No one believed the man who demeaned women, insulted an entire race, and made unrealistic promises to his masses could ever be the face of the nation.
They were wrong. Some fear is too trigger happy to be the President. Immigrants and people of color fear for their safety. Some people are just purely angry; they seek to harm and a Trump presidency gives them the perfect excuse. It lets them believe they are vandalizing stores for a reason.
It’s time that Americans realize, unless they believe in one all-powerful God, no one is the keeper of all knowledge. Not even President-Elect Trump. So do not judge him as if he is; it may be hard to remember, but Trump is human just like the rest of the world. It is time people started acknowledging that. He will make mistakes, he will disappoint many people, as all previous Presidents have, as all humans have. But unless Americans unite as “one nation…indivisible with liberty and justice for all” Trump will never get the chance he deserves to prove his worth as President. And if all humans have an entitlement to only one thing, it is a chance.
As hard as it is to comprehend for some people, Trump is a voice to some people. He says things others wish they had the heart to. He has promised to lead them, to make the country they live in “great again.” Everyone should remember they share a country with this group of people. Everyone should remember politics make up a fraction of a person, while morals and beliefs make up nearly all of one.
The people who voted for Donald Trump are not evil. Writer and director, Stephen Chbosky, says it best, “All the books you’ve read have been read by other people. And all the songs you’ve loved have been heard by other people. And that girl that’s pretty to you is pretty to other people. If you looked at these facts when you were happy, you would feel great because you are describing ‘unity.”
What matters is who people are, where they are from, and their life story; humans together as people, and people make a country, not a business investment. Donald Trump knows that; after all his slogan is “Make America Great Again.” It is important for all Americans to turn to him with hearts and minds that do not judge him prematurely, so that way America can heal the divide that threatens to rip the nation in two.

I agree 100% with this!!! The american people need to start realizing that this country needs someone in office who wants to heal it. They need to not set impossible expectations because they know that Trump won’t meet them, nobody will. They want to make a reason why Trump is not suited for the presidential position when they need to realize that they need to do what’s best for this country and that really is to make America great again.
